Every once in a while it does a soul good to read a children’s story. It is there we can often find a message simply presented yet delivered in truth.
In The One O’Clock Miracle, written by Alison Mitchell and illustrated by Catalina Echeverri, we find the story of the healing of the official’s son as told in John 4. This book does not focus solely on the healing but rather captures the faith of the father. The official, upon speaking with Jesus, traveled the long distance home, repeating and believing the words of Jesus, “Go, your son will live.” Children will learn to hold onto God’s promises, repeating them so as not to forget what He has said. It is a story about healing, trust and faith in God.
This is a sweet book which will teach children to trust in the words of Jesus. They will be able to easily grasp the point that God’s Word is truth and will come to pass. Parents and children alike will be captured by the words, illustrations and message of this book.
I highly recommend this book for parents to buy and to read to their children. This book is the beautifully told story of Jesus and addresses the issue of faith.
This is the third book I have had the pleasure of reading and reviewing by Alison Mitchell and Catalina Acheverri. Alby’s Amazing Book and The Christmas Promise were equally loved and enjoyed.

Today I am joining … The Book Nook and Literacy Musing Mondays and Booknificent Thursdays .
Such a fine storyline. This sounds like a book for children as well as adults to ponder. I have recently finished a Bible study called “Walk on Water Faith” and it is about the many, many promises of God. God speaks and we need to hold onto His Word.
Thank you for sharing this.
Visiting from Musing Mondays.
Caring through Christ, ~ linda
Linda, I think it is a book which will benefit both child and parent for the very reason you picked up on – – we need to know and hold onto the promises of God.
This book sounds so inspiring and true. Thanks for sharing on Literacy Musing Mondays. I enjoyed the review. 😉
I think children will love both the story & the illustrations. Always good to join you!
I don’t even have anyone to read this to and I want to go get it! 🙂 Such cute graphics and a great storyline that you have related so well. Blessings.
Nannette, the illustrations in her books are just precious. I always pass the books on to my granddaughter’s school for the kids to enjoy.
I love, love, love children’s books, and I think I actually learn more from them than from adult non-fiction! Shows my maturity level, I guess! 🙂 Thanks for sharing this at Booknificent Thursday!
Tina
Tina, you so made me smile. I still love a good children’s book! Perhaps this is a part of how we become like little children, lol. I so enjoy joining you at Booknificent Thursdays. Blessings!
