A whole new year is upon us. It’s the time of year we all reflect back and think ahead. We make goals and resolutions and many focus on one word. I picked my one word and have so enjoyed reading about the words which others will be focusing on for 2015 …Â
1) Mary shares … “My challenge this year is to be the light- to shine for Jesus- to let His plan become mine!”
2) Beth explains … “Sometimes we just want to rest, remain, abide, tarry.”
3) Barbie gives us this definition of her word … “to be satisfied with a certain level of achievement, good fortune, etc., and not wishing for more.”
4) Sandra says this about her word … “I’m going to clear out the rest of the clutter, find my Christmas cards, and make this house a HOME again. A place where I don’t have to close doors and warn against tours.”
5) Jolene shares about her goal for 2015 … “My goal for 2015 is this. I want to stop complaining. I want to turn every gripe into gratitude. I want to challenge myself not to complain.” A different take on a repeated word.
So what about you? Do you make resolutions? Or did you also pick one word to focus on this year? And notice, even if the one word is the same word, the focus is different. We are each individuals and God will work in our lives through those words in a personal and intimate manner. No matter how you started your year, may 2015 by one that is filled with all the goodness of our God!
Love,
Joanne

I’m honored that you included me Joanne! Thank you for being such a wonderful online friend and for encouraging others in this thing we call writing! Praying all of our words for this year are God’s way of teaching us and drawing us closer to Him. Hugs!
Mary, you have been a wonderful online friend & encouragement to me as well, for which I am grateful. May this be a year God grows us in our words & our lives bear much fruit!
Joanne, thank you so much for including me in your post. I pray that God would lead us all as we walk out our word in faith. Blessings!
Amen! It was a joy to share your word. I so enjoyed seeing the words our God brought to each person. Each word, person and with different nuances of how God was desiring to work in our lives. Exciting to think about! Have a blessed Sunday!
happy New Year, Joanne! I’ve done different things to mark the new. Last year I chose a word. The year before I chose a picture. This year? Nothing has spoken to me so I am waiting, savoring, keeping my heart open. Praying you have a very blessed 2015. I’m grateful for your friendship.
Laura, it has been a blessing to get to know you a little more this past year through the book launch. Your comment brought a smile as it made me think … even when nothing is speaking, He is yet speaking as He has said “wait”. And as you keep your heart open to Him & wait, He will speak. It will surely have been worth the wait & I cannot wait to see what He brings about in your life in 2015. Blessings to you & yours!
Yes, in choosing words we do have an individual focus–and it is God who refines us! Great post! Thank-you for visiting my blog. Peace and joy,
Carol
Having one word brings an intentional focus throughout the year which surely brings change in us. May you have a wonderful 2015!
