There are days we are left with more questions than answers. Things we cannot understand. Circumstances we will never be able to explain.
The pain is greater than we ever thought we would be able to endure. Our hearts feel like they will break. The darkness envelops all around us leaving us wondering if we will see the light again.
It is at those very moments in which all we can do is trust Him and remember….
His everlasting arms are under you.
There is no one like the God of Israel. He rides across the heaven to help you, across the skies in majestic splendor. The eternal God is your refuge, and his everlasting arms are under you. (Deuteronomy 33:26-27, NLT)
His everlasting arms are under you.
He will hold you up.
It is His promise.
**This post is dedicated to dear friends going through a painful difficulty at this time. May they hold onto His promises and trust Him.

I am your neighbor over at Beth’s Three Word Wednesday. I pray your friends will feel God’s love and strength in whatever they are going through. I am grateful for His everlasting arms.
Love,
Beth
I too, am grateful for His everlasting arms. Thank you so much!
Joanne: Without going into detail, last night wasn’t a good one – and this morning, I opened your blog and read the words I so needed to hear. My prayer is that I may Trust Him more fully, more completely, to be filled with, and aware of His constant presence every moment of every day; but last night I just slumped – and cried for the Holy Spirit to give me the extra spiritual boost and where-with-all that only He can give. I know His everlasting Arms are beneath me – all the time – always – but I needed to “hear” it – and this morning I did. I love that He knows how needy I am of His fortitude and I love that the Lord constantly uses you to speak directly to the need of my heart. His Word lifts me up and refreshes my soul with the Living Water! He is True and Faithful and I know He’s going to take me and my family safely through this dark tunnel. Love You So Much, dear woman of God! May His blessings continue to rest heavily upon you!
Angela -I am so grateful that God places His Word on our hearts. It is His Word alone that is faithful to sustain us when we need it most. May He continue to be with you all!
Love,
Joanne
We’re so I sync with each other Joanne. I love it. His word lights a fire in our hearts and always leads us back to the safety of His covering. Yes his embrace, his arms and protection are everlasting.
So grateful that His Word will always lead us back to the safety of His covering. Loved those words!
This reminds me of a couple in our church who is going through a fiery trial as well, Joanne. This young man (39) just found out he has stage 4 brain cancer and (after surgery) only 14 months to live. The even worse part is that his wife was pregnant with their third child (until Monday when she gave birth) and all three of their kids under the age of 3. We have to hold on to these kinds of verses–reminding ourselves of God’s love, power and sovereignty. He is there for us even when we face death and tragedy! Thanks for linking up, my friend!
Beth – Since reading this comment yesterday, I have prayed for this man & his family. I cannot imagine the journey they are on. May our God strengthen them, bring them His peace and comfort. Thank you for sharing with me. I will continue to pray for them.
Jo: Regarding this gentlemen, I’m posting the above comment on FB trusting even more prayers will go before the Throne for him and his family.
What a wonderful thing to do, Angela. May God move mightily in their situation!
Dear Joanne
Oh, I can attest to that, dear friend. It is during the darkest times of our lives that our Pappa is the closest to us. With my illness, I experience His everlasting arms holding me, carrying me through the darkest times.
Blessings XX
Mia
Mia – Knowing that He is with us causes the light to shine through the dark. May He strengthen you & bring you healthier days. Blessings!
Thank you for this reminder. How comforting to know His arms are there!
Underneath…..are His everlasting arms! Couldn’t help but think of this old song, and even this is a 90’s rendition, but what words of comfort!! Blessings to you and your friends today. ♥ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClNXcUbDWtI
Thank you, Nanette. What a beautiful song! Thank you for sharing here with me.
Nannette: Thank you – this song is beautiful. We know, with rest assured, that our Lord holds us up – especially during our most difficult times. We trust Him in the shadows; we trust Him in the light.
Leaning on the everlasting arms… no place better to be. Likewise, I lift up those who are going through fiery trials. God is more than enough. May they remember that and take comfort in His promises.
Alison, May we be faithful to pray for others who may not have the strength to pray for themselves. God is faithful.
I read your post this morning but did not have a chance to comment. As always, your words were a beautiful way to begin my day. Thank you my friend.
Love you,
Beth
My word for the year is ‘with’ and I’ve been thinking how He goes before me and now you have reminded me that He holds me up too. Beautiful reminder.
Thank you so much for linking up!
Rebekah, I love your word! Your comment made me realize that He is always, always WITH us even in ways that we are not always aware. I am so glad that you shared. May you have a great night!
