Today I am reminded of when God instructed Abram where to look…..
Look as far as you can see in every direction – north and south, east and west. I am giving you all this land, as far as you can see, to you and your descendants as a permanent possession. And I will give you so many descendants that, like the dust of the earth, they cannot be counted! Go and walk though the land in every direction, for I am giving it to you.”
(Genesis 13:14-17 NLT)
We must move forward into our Promise Land.
Keep. Looking. Ahead.
Today I linked with Wholehearted Wed. and Wordless Wed. and Wisdom Wed. and A Wise Woman and Still Saturday .
Dear Joanne
Yes, we need to keep on going forward out of the worldly ways into the life of our Lord Jesus. Looking back is good for only one reason and that is to learn from our mistakes!
Xx
Amen to that! Too many times we live in the past…filled with regrets, self-loathing/guilt, or wishings for the way things used to be. Our eyes should be set upon Christ and His grace and His sacrifice and His will for our lives!
Thank you for wonderful post today! 🙂
Kelsey,
So glad you stopped by. Your comment was an encouragement.
Happy 4th!
Joanne
The comment on your picture saying that God gave us eyes on the front of our head to look forward, so stop looking back, also reminds me of Lot’s wife. She is an example of how much trouble we can get into by looking back. We moved six years ago and when things go well, it is easy to look forward, but when things go wrong it is easy to be tempted to look back.
Joanne, thanks for your post today. It is an encouragement to me to look forward no matter what because God is upholding me in His hands. Thanks for sharing this over at WholeHearted Home last week and hope to see you again later tonight or tomorrow when my linkup goes live.
I am grateful that the post spoke to you. Thank you for hosting the link up. Hope to see you tomorrow 🙂
