I listen to so many things all day long. The voices of children. Calliou. Sophia the First. SPORTS. Hockey in particular of late 🙂 The sounds of cars going by in the street. The laughter of children. The trash getting collected from the curb. Lawn mowers.
So many sounds. A cacophony. The meaningless mix of sounds from everywhere somehow comprising the tune of the day.
There are times at the end of the day, when sleep has taken over the house, that I listen to the quiet. The floors creaking. The hum of the refrigerator. The nothingness.
This morning, as I sit in the yet dark of the morning, I listen. I hear the sound of drenching rains hitting the sky lights in our family room. It is steadily coming down. At this moment, it is a comforting sound as I am inside safe & dry.
And if I truly pay attention, I can hear it.
If my ears listen, it is then I hear it. The still small voice….
Don’t be afraid! For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.†(Zephaniah 3:17 NLT)

It’s amazing what we can actually hear when we take a moment to listen.
It is so true. Even when we think everything is quiet, there is still something to be heard. Thank you for stopping by!
so beautiful friend. there is such beautiful music in the nothingness.
Dear Joanne
Yes, it is only in the stillness that we can hear His still, small voice! The world at best is a noisy place, bombarding our minds with trillion thoughts every day, but nothing can bring us peace the way our Lord Jesus does.
Much love
Mia
Mia –
It is amazing at how beautiful a sound the silence can truly be 🙂
Have a great day!
Joanne
those early morning precious moments… one of my favorite times to listen.
Me too 🙂 Thanks for the visit!
Let’s listen to God’s voice in the silence. He is there. He will always be there. He waits to be gracious.
You remind me of a favorite line, “He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” God’s message is accessible if we are prepared to listen!
Yes so true. Thank you for stopping by!
