“I have made a covenant with God that he sends me neither visions, dreams, nor even angels. I am well satisfied with the gift of the Holy Scripture, which give me abundant instruction and all that I need to know both for this life and for that life which is to come.” (Martin Luther).
God, we thank you for the priceless treasure you have entrusted to us in your written Word. We rejoice in the many promises we find in its pages for our strength and encouragement. We pray that as we get into the Word, it will get into us in a life-changing way. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

“You have laid down precepts that are to be fully obeyed. Oh, that my ways were steadfast in obeying your decrees.” (Psalm 119: 4-5 NIV84).

Yes, we are truly blessed not just to have the written word of God, but also the living Word, our dearest Lord, living in us.

The daily presence of the Word and the living Word is a blessing I’ll never be able to praise God enough for. Your photograph made me think of the light we receive from the Light of the World. Praying your beautiful prayer with you.
Thank you to each of you for stopping. So grateful for each of your comments!
The Word is the most important, MUCH more important. Now, He has used dreams to give me instructions more than once, and other outside-the-Word bits and pieces, BUT if they didn’t fit into the Word, I wouldn’t have gone with them at all. Happens in the Word when people are led aside by angels, visions, and dreams. SO, keeping the Truth in the midst, fitting into the Word only, is all that counts. Thank you much. Martin Luther had a lot on his plate, and understood much of what was flowing in his world in those days. He’d be screaming and jumping up and down in our present world, which is what many of us do when we see so much of what’s on our world’s heart in the wrong ways.
Thank you.
