Tomorrow is Thanksgiving.
The last few days, my heart has been filled with deep gratitude for all God has done over the past year.
The grace, the mercy, the protection, the provision, the love, and the victories – He has surely done more than we could have expected or deserved.
And so on this day before Thanksgiving, I want to share a prayer I discovered many years ago, as the words have been so cherished. It is my prayer for each of you:
“The eyes of all believers are on You, Lord God and heavenly Father, since You are the Provider for all. Open Your gentle hand and pour out Your gracious blessings over those who hope in You and open their eyes to You. Give us, Lord, spiritual eyes trustingly directed toward You. May we graciously enjoy the blessing and benediction of Your divine grace, and may we take in moderation that which You have given to us and use it to honor You and fulfill our needs. Above all else, nourish our souls increasingly with the bread of Your holy Word, through Your dear Son, our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen.”
(taken from Amish Prayers compiled by Beverly Lewis, page 44)
“I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”
The Lord is good to those who depend on him, to those who search for him.”
(Lamentations 3:24-25, NLT)
Happy Thanksgiving to each one of you!
You have blessed me deeply with all you have shared!
Lauren Sparks shares, “Even if I didn’t have the things I have, I would still have reason to thank Him.” Be sure to read her beautiful post, “A Lesson in Giving Thanks from the Passover” HERE. Her words will prepare your heart to give thanks.
