“Though he slay me, yet will I hope in him … “ (Job 13:15a, NIV)
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28, NIV). Jesus says to us, Trust Me. Live and breathe in My love.
Do life stresses and heartaches have you disturbed and defeated? Don’t get lost in the feelings. Hang on to the truth in God’s Word. Trust Him with whatever comes, because remember – He’s working it all together for your good!
Prayer: Father, getting sidetracked by trials is a struggle for me. Whatever happens, Lord, we pray that we will be true to You. Thank You that You are forgiving and faithful when we am faithless. Help us to stay to the straight path. Help us to stay focused on our relationship with You. Amen.

It’s so easy to get “lost in the feelings,” so this is an important reminder. Sometimes when I’m tired, I have the presence of mind to say, “Don’t listen to your feelings. Go to bed. You’ll feel different after you have rested.” In times of weariness, things go much better when I talk to myself rather than listening to myself. 🙂
This is such a gorgeous photograph! I especially love Matt. 11:28 in the KJV – “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” When we are overwhelmed and weighed down with the cares of this world, we need to run to the Lord. He will give us rest. Thank you for this reminder today.
Amen!!
This is exactly what I prayed about this morning. To not be sidetracked by life and life circumstances but to stay rooted in God’s truths. Thank you for the reinforcements this morning! God bless!
This: “Don’t get lost in the feelings” is my mantra so much ch of the time because I can get sucked down by the feelings and forget God’s truth. I’m SUCH a feeler. But God made me that way and I know I can balance it–use it for good if I don’t get swallowed up by it.
That verse came to me when I was feeling heavy hearted about a particular situation this week. Thank you for this confirmation!
The CARE pastor at my previous church said, “Feelings are indicators, not dictators.” Those few words have helped me.
Been so trying to remember this when I get frustrated or stressed. It does work and is helpful. Had some disheartening news this past week, and first started to have panic, but told my self, just breathe and think on God and verse. It helped to calm me through the situation. When I got to the doctor office (they had called that I needed to come back in)…there on the wall was scripture too and that helped. .Great scripture reminder.

Needed this today, as I am so tempted to be worried and distracted by the things happening in our lives. Staying focused – staying on the path.
I’m late but I’m here! All of these Sonday ponderings are ministering to my discontentment. Help me, Lord.
