The words written in the study are before me:
“… the only reward for our faith is the Rewarder Himself.”
(from “But We See Jesus”, HelloMornings.org)
In this life, we are blessed to journey through with the Presence of “the Rewarder Himself”. We do not travel our days alone because He is faithful to be with us every single day.
The simple quote brought to mind a video I had seen several years ago and I searched to find it again on youtube. It is a short video, well-worth your time to watch. Brother David Steindl-Rast, a benedictine monk, shares his thoughts and observations on gratitude. There truly are so many little things each day which we overlook and our hearts would swell with gratitude – if we were to but take notice. My favorite quote from the video still remains this one:
Let the gratefulness overflow into blessing all around you. Then it will really be a good day.
We can start a chain effect by simply having a grateful heart. Those around us will be blessed for having been in the presence of a grateful heart. A heart that recognizes the color of the sky, the smell of autumn, the crunch of the leaves, the movement of the clouds.
Twenty four hours allotted to each of us and it is called, “Today” …
“This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.”
(Psalm 118:24, NLT)
Let gratefulness overflow.
Have a really good day.
And may others be blessed by you.
Today I am joining … Three Word Wednesday and Coffee For Your Heart and Tell His Story and Women With Intention .
This is getting to be a weekly match-up with us Joanne – neighbors again! 😉 Gratitude is something strongly encouraged and practiced by those in addiction recovery. I continue to learn more of the spiritual importance of that through them. You’ve added to that today. Thank you.
May we increasingly grow in gratitude, Debby. Grateful for you.
Gratitude improves my attitude. And others will certainly notice it! So encouraging and challenging!
Today may we find reason to be grateful. At least in that way, we can encourage those around us. Blessings!
Thank you for this reminder.
Grateful you stopped here 🙂 and grateful for our many conversations! Blessings today to you & the kids!
The Giver is also the Gift.
I’m going to carry the peaceful truth of this post through this busy day. Thanks, Joanne.
Michele, I read your comment and immediately thought … He is the Giver and the Gift that keeps on giving. So grateful for Him.
So today at Jennifer’s I’m sandwiched between two favorites: YOU and Karrilee. Perfectly situated between two holy and consecrated women. xo
Susan, no words.
I love that we can “start a chain effect by simply having a grateful heart”! Great post! Blessings to you.
May it start with us. Each and every day.
In tears over the profound truth and beauty in the video! Thank you!
Elizabeth, the video does it to me each and every time I watch it. So grateful it blessed you as well.
I start each year determined to keep gratitude in my heart, and by this time I usually have lost sight of that. Thank you for the timely reminder. Merry Christmas!
