I woke up this morning to read an email reminding me that today is the day!!! Somehow I so lost track of the days this month. But the friend and “editor” of this project labored endlessly to bring it all together right down to reminding us all!
It’s here – The Five Minute Friday book has released!
I began to blog several years ago solely for the purpose of one day leaving my thoughts to my children in one neat little place. After all, I reasoned, my children might want to know what their mother thought about all day, right? So I blogged secretly – journaled – each day for them until I discovered linkups and community.
My first ever linkup was the Five Minute Friday. It was with trepidation and insecurity that I shared a post as I truly had no idea what to expect.
The group exceeded my expectations. Friendships began to form as we encouraged and began to share with one another. It was there, I “met” some of these friends who faithfully show up every week as we share our thoughts surrounding a one word prompt.
The idea of a book was birthed and the email inviting us all to submit a story. Susan has worked hard, along with Kate, to bring this project to fruition – 150 stories all between the covers of one book! The stories will inspire and motivate you. They will make you laugh and perhaps cry, as you discover friend after friend sharing their heart words with you.
But here is the best part of all – it is not just another book.
All profits from this project will be divided equally between two ministries in South Africa: The Vine School in Cape Town, and The Ten Dollar Tribe!
This group of friends is dedicated to reaching out, encouraging, and giving outside of themselves!
And there’s more!!! Perhaps you are in need of a new hoodie, t-shirt, or mug! Those are available to order for a short time and you can do that right HERE .
This is a book (and products) that will keep on giving as it will all be given away.
I hope you take part in this exciting and meaningful venture.
Today I am joining … # SmallWonder and Moments of Hope and Inspire Me Monday and #LifeGiving and Literacy Musing Monday
What a fun project! May God bless your efforts to support these worthy causes. Visiting from #LMMLinkup today 🙂
Oh, I didn’t know about this book! How delightful. Even though I haven’t participated in Five-Minute Friday in awhile, I love reading what others write each week. I hope you’ll still compile your blog posts into a book for your kids!
Thanks for sharing this! I didn’t know about this either. I have not participated in this prompt, but read what others have written. Often it seems I whiz past it, but I will try it as well.
What an awesome outreach endeavor, Joanne! Just think, as you started journaling, God knew a few years down the road you’d be impacting children in South Africa! Pretty cool! Thanks, friend, for sharing hope at #MomentsofHope! You are a blessing!
