Nature has often spoken to my heart at the most unexpected times. From shadows, clouds, sunlight, moonlight, flowers, trees to animals and flowers – all displaying the majesty of God.
Francine Rivers has been an author enjoyed by many in her countless books. In this book, Earth Psalms: Reflections On How God Speaks Through Nature, she offers fifty two devotions of her observations and thoughts on God through the marvelous wonders of His creation. She points out that our observations can change our outlook and even the way in which we handle adversity.
Each of the devotions includes a reflection, an application and a prayer to inspire us to look around, be attentive, and take notice of God’s handiwork all around us.
The book is filled with spectacular photos, quotes, and facts about nature that are thought provoking. Topics included are prayer, community, planting seeds, thanksgiving, God’s protection, faith, friendship, and several more – all causing us to stop and think more deeply.
We need devotionals which help us to see God in the midst of our day and in all that is around us.
When we live in Him, study His Word, and pattern our lives after His, we receive all the “nutrients” we need to grow. We are built up and strengthened. His living water sustains and instructs us. And as time goes by, we become more firmly entrenched in Him, so that we can endure whatever comes. We are evergreen.
