I’m joining Kate Motaung for Five Minute Friday. One word prompt. Five minutes. No editing. Lots of women. All of us writing on that same word. For the month of October, I will incorporate the word prompts into my series, 31 Days Of Going In Circles.
Today’s word is … New.
In our lives, we pray for change, for something new to happen. Or we want to receive something new. But new can come with its own set of issues as it is something we are unaccustomed to.
I think of the Israelites in the wilderness, crying out for food. God provided for them …
“When the layer of dew lifted, there, on the surface of the wilderness, was a small round substance, as fine as frost on the ground.” (Exodus 16: 14, NKJV)
The people didn’t know what it was as they had never seen manna before, no one had. And Moses explained to them …
“This is the bread which the Lord has give you to eat.” (Exodus 16:15, NKJV)
Those times when it seems like we are in a wilderness, going in circles, the Lord is there to provide for us. It may not always look like the familiar as He does bring about the new in our lives. But He knows exactly what we need to nourish our souls.
And as this new, round substance appeared every morning to feed the people, we too, will be fed with something new …
“And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believe in Me shall never thirst.” (John 6:49, NKJV)
Trust Him.
He may be doing something new.
This is Day 3 of 31 Days Of Going In Circles. You can find the entire series here .
Today I am joining with … Five Minute Friday and Everyday Jesus and Friendship Fri. and Faith Filled Fri. and Fellowship Fri. and Faith & Fellowship and Blessing Counters .
I love this: “Trust Him. He may be doing something new.” A good word indeed when we find ourselves in unfamiliar, uncharted waters. 🙂
And it is then we need to trust Him the most, Betsy.
This is awesome, Joanne. We yearn for something “new” but sometimes God might be working in our current… we have to be grateful to see it! Thank you for sharing this.
Wonderful point, Sharita. May gratitude fill our hearts where we are. And may our eyes be willing to see how He is working. Blessings!
Hi Joanne! 💛 I am loving visiting everyone who is participating in this challenge!
Oh yes; how we must trust Him’ we must manage and respond to change and something new so that it will work for us, not against us. Life changes because we are part of it, and we can always make it change for the better.
Blessings lovely friend; enjoy your weekend!
Denise
I am enjoying visiting the varied series too, Denise. May we live, eyes open to His working, so that we grow & change is for the better. Have a wonderful weekend!
Isn’t it funny how when God provides, we often ask, “What is the world is THIS?” instead of just stooping down and partaking of the offering?
Anita, your comment got me to thinking … perhaps it is the stooping we have issue with. Oh that we would have hearts that would remain humble & able to bow down. So grateful you added your thoughts! Blessings!
